Being in this line of work is a blast. So about a year ago, the creator of Soapbox wondered to herself why she wasn’t enjoying it. The answer eventually became clear.

Marketing is about influencing your audience to take action. To buy a certain shampoo, visit a certain restaurant, or drive a certain car. And what she realized is that all that stuff she was convincing people to do, buy, or want wasn’t in line with her values. So she began looking for opportunities to work with companies that were.

She wanted to create marketing tools for nonprofits for the same reason she buys organic food and shops at local retailers—to support those that are having a positive impact on society and the planet.

She wanted to communicate causes.
